Sometimes new mechanisms are still and difficult to use. They will become smoother as you use them more. To make them smoother faster, you can put some lube (or cooking oil) on the places where the mechanism parts join. Leave it for a day and the mechanisms will work very well. Each mechanism has four joints, so there are eight joints in total. You only need a little bit of lube for each joint.
